Nowadays about 15 constant inhabitants live in Suminai. The first information about this village is from 1554. The village has a national museum of everyday articles. The lakes and forests are the things that draw the people to visit here. Here you will find the pine of Šuminai, the diameter of which is 0.9 m, height – 17 m. It is a very old pine tree, which was declared to be a protected object by the Minister of Environment on 03 Nov 1999.
